Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program (PUA)

The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program (PUA) is a temporary federal program that provides up to 39 weeks of unemployment benefits for individuals impacted by the pandemic. This program provides benefits to those individuals who are not eligible for regular unemployment compensation. Individuals who receive PUA benefits may also receive the $600 weekly benefit about under the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program.


NOTE:
The New York State Department of Labor has launched an updated, streamlined online application that allows New Yorkers to apply for either traditional Unemployment Insurance or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, depending on your eligibility. You DO NOT have to complete a separate application for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance.
