Benjamin Goldstein
Benjamin Goldstein is an associate attorney at Kessler Matura P.C.
Benjamin represents employees in all areas of employment law, including claims for discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, retaliation, and unpaid wages. He handles claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, the New York City Human Rights Law, the National Labor Relations Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the New York Labor Law.
Mr. Goldstein brings substantial litigation experience to his practice, having spent over five years as a public defender at the Bronx Defenders, one of the premier criminal defense practices in the country, and a year as a litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. He has successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials and litigated a variety of hearings. Benjamin understands that trial is not the only way to achieve results and has negotiated an array of innovative settlements for his clients.
In addition to his litigation experience, Benjamin worked for almost three years as one of two in-house attorneys at Kensho Technologies, LLP, a top tech start-up. At Kensho, he helped guide the company through the largest A.I. acquisition in history, while simultaneously managing day-to-day legal functions in employment law, immigration, licensing, IP, compliance, and vendor contracting. He advised the company on employment-related issues, including hiring, termination, severance, and disability, while working with Human Resources to develop its systems as the company went from small start-up through high growth.
Above all, Benjamin is committed to a client-centered approach, working with each client to understand and zealously advocate for their interests.
Benjamin graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in New York City. He speaks fluent Spanish.
In his free time, Benjamin likes to spend time with his family (in particular, goofing around with his daughter), read, listen to music (anything from indie and classic rock, to R&B, hip-hop, jazz, Latin – you name it) and getting outdoors to ski, cycle, play tennis, soccer, and basketball.
